When explosive natural ability collides with fiery, emotionally charged compositions, the result is Aynsley Lister, an incredible guitarist whose brand of blues-based rock delivers contemporary song writing fuelled with the kind of heart and soul that’s missing from so much modern music. Whether passionately writing and recording his own material or mesmerising audiences at his live shows, one thing is abundantly clear: music is hard-wired to his DNA and flows from his fingertips like sonic bolts of lightning. With more than 100,000 albums sold, lashings of critical acclaim and years of high profile touring, Lister’s resumé speaks for itself and firmly secures his position as a leading light in the resurgence of British blues-infused music.
Support: The Mentulls
Supporting Aynsley on the night is The Mentualls, a band whose style is broad with influences ranging from Gary Moore to Toto and Cream to Genesis.
All members of the band became passionate about music from a young age, with guitarist and vocalist, Andrew Pipe and his brother, Jamie on keyboards making their performance debut in their early teens with drummer Nick Colman joining them shortly after.
Over the years the band have carved themselves a unique style as a three piece with Jamie’s unusual yet effective way of handling the bass lines in his left hand, as well as playing his organ and piano parts in his right.
As well as touring in their own right, the band has played high profile supports and tours with legendary bands and artists including Aynsley Lister, Wishbone Ash, Focus, Walter Trout, Dr Feelgood, Mick Ralphs of Bad Company and Mott The Hoople, Roger Chapman of Family, King King, and many more.
