Best of the Fest double header – Kieran Boyd & Mark Cooper Jones
Two stand out Stand Ups from this year’s Edinburgh Festival
Kieran Boyd – Egg
Kieran presents his debut stand up show about how weird we all are and features stupid jokes about his exponentially worsening hangovers, warped eulogies to his mad uncle, and a far-too-thorough examination of public toilet etiquette. He likes heavy metal and grammar, so this one hour long set will be wild, but also correct.
‘impressively funny… Terrific material’ Scotsman
He’s the one who played all the girl parts in Fringe sketch veterans WitTank – (‘Masterful’ Sunday Times)
Mark Cooper-Jones – Geographically Speaking
Hotly tipped as ‘One to Watch’ (Londonisfunny.com), Mark performs stand-up around the country. With much of his material derived from his past experiences of teaching Geography, Mark (Sir) is an authoritative stand up with a penchant for rules, countries and capitals tests.
Mark is still a part-time teacher of geography. He’s not boasting, he just is. And seeing as the kids are always laughing at him, he’s decided to return to Edinburgh to teach you a lesson or two. He sets out not so much to question the stereotypes surrounding this most fabled of professions, as to emphatically reinforce them. Expect elbow pads.
Be prepared to be taken back to the classroom with a difference for an hour…remember to listen and sit up straight …there may just be a test at the end!
