Performed and Written by Ewan Wardrop

Formby follows George Formby’s rise from awkward stable boy to one of Britain’s biggest stars.

Formby is a funny, touching and thoughtful play of an essentially ordinary man with an extraordinary talent. This sensational production features many of Formby’s classic hits brilliantly performed live by Wardrop on the ukulele, including: Blackpool Rock, Leaning On A Lampost, When I’m Cleaning Windows, TT Races, and many more.

Performed by the multi-talented Ewan Wardrop – actor, dancer and musical comedian who initially trained as a dancer and was a principal performer with Matthew Bourne’s company Adventures in Motion Pictures.  He played leading roles in Swan Lake, Nutcracker! and The CarMan.  As an actor recent credits include ENRON in the West End, and Terence Rattigan’s The Deep Blue Sea at the Chichester Festival Theatre. He has also worked with companies such as Complicite, the Royal Shakespeare Company and award winning comedy acapella group Barbershopera. He is currently on tour with Kneehigh Theatre in their award winning 946:  The Amazing Story of Adolphus Tips.
