Critically acclaimed, London-based songstress Sarah Gillespie is renowned for mixing blues, folk & jazz with her streetwise poetic lyrics. Her four albums received outstanding reviews from the UK press plus accolades from iconic musician Robert Wyatt. She has toured extensively for the last 10 years, headlining leading venues (Southbank/ Ronnie Scott’s) and festivals in Europe and the UK. She has played live on renowned BBC Radio programs (Woman’s Hour, Start the Week, Loose Ends) BBC Radio 2 and 3 as well as local stations world-wide. Gillespie’s most recent album ‘Wishbones’ (2018), produced by Kit Downes, was launched at London’s Southbank Centre and received 5 star reviews and Album of the Year from the Arts Desk. With a Master’s Degree in Politics and Philosophy, Gillespie has always written essays, poems and journals. Her debut collection of poetry and lyrics was published by Oxford’s Albion Beatnik Publishing in 2018 and launched at the London Jazz Festival.
